Love Without Boundaries....

I talk about this organization often as it is one of my favorites. They give a chance and they give hope to children that very well may not have either without help from them - help from us. Read about the great work they do here. Below is an e-mail I would like to share with you. After you watch the video clip, please go to the second link and make a $10 donation to help this wonderful organization win this contest. When they win...the kids win. There are so many children that can be helped and YOU can make this happen. Each person can only donate once(one per e-mail address) so please take 2 minutes to register with Facebook and make a small donation that can turn into a large miracle for many children. It does only take a few minutes...I did it in no time at all!

Karen Maunu, our medical director, has put together a photo show of some of the beautiful children healed through LWB in 2007. You can watch it here:

If LWB wins the Facebook Charity Challenge on February 1st, we will be able to use the prize money to heal even more wonderful kids like those in this video. If you haven't yet joined up to donate $10, we are hoping you will as we are still in first place, but only by a handful of people. We need as many new donors as possible within the next 2 days. The next 48 hours will decide whether 10 beautiful babies with heart disease can have the operations they need for a healthy life.
Visit to make a $10 donation and bring us one step closer to Facebook's $50,000 prize. Together we can do this! And let 10 precious children receive the gift of life.

These are Roses that are brightening up our kitchen. Chelsea's boyfriend, Joe, gave then to her over the week-end to celebrate their 6 month anniversary. Awwww!!!

While we were in the "waiting stage " of Ella's adoption, I participated in a Secret Pal swap. Many adopting families do this as a fun way to pass the time while waiting. Our SP swap lasted for 6 months. I loved to shop for my SP, but it is kind of a hassle when it comes to shipping the gifts out...finding the right size box, going to post office and such. It was so much fun, but at the end...I was kind of relieved to not have to think about shipping packages each month. Well, that SP exchange ended almost 2 years ago.

We never know just how or who God will bless our lives with. The person who had my name for the SP exchange has become such a dear friend of mine. She blessed me with gifts during the SP exchange, but has given me so much more in the 2 years that have passed since then. She is always there to listen when I need to talk to someone. She is always there to boost my spirits when needed or give advice when necessary. She is ALWAYS there! And for that, I am so thankful!

These pictures are from a package that Robin sent us for Sophie's birthday. As always...she was so thoughtful and remembered both girls when she sent the package. 3 is not a good age to understand why one is getting gifts and not the other!

Robin, I had to laugh a little when your package arrived. I thought to myself..."poor Robin probably never imagined she would still be sending out packages to her SP 2 years after the fact." LOL!

The flashlights, binoculars and bubbles are from a line called Ling Ling the Panda. So, so cute! Robin said it is sold in Wal-mart. Our WM doesn't carry this line yet, but hopefully they will start!

Below, your can see the beautiful pillows she made for the girls. If you would like to see more of the things that my friend is making, please click here.

Robin, we once again thank-you for your kindness! The girls were thrilled as you can see in the pictures!!!

Teens, Toddlers, and a Kitten

When I read other blogs, my favorite things to read are often things I can relate to. Now, if I were to see a photo like the one above with a house full of kids and animals...I would not quite be able to relate..

Now these pictures are much easier for me to relate to as this is what I see every morning. This is my teenagers bathroom. I try not to embarrass them with things that I write about, but trust me...this situation does not embarrass them. They often have friends over and I cringe at the thought of them using this bathroom, but my teens assure me, "they don't care, Mom". You can never find the counter tops and will seldom see the floor. If you walk through, you must be careful not to step on the open tubes of hair gel, which are always on the floor????

And our downstairs bathroom is where the little ones and the kitten love to get into mischief. The ring leader is often the kitten who has a fascination with the toilet paper roll and loves to unravel it all over the place. Of course this is much fun for the girls, too!!

p.s. the very first picture is actually a picture of our master bath...but we work hard, oh so hard to keep all teens, toddlers and kittens away from there unless absolutely necessary. : )

Sophie's First Day of School

Okay! I am ready to go!!

Don't you think this is a little big for me, Mom?

Here Soph...let me see if I can tighten this up for you.

It went well! Yay! Sophie receives services from the county for a couple of things that she needs a little extra help with. The main one being her sensory issues. We had someone come to our home until now, but as soon as she turned 3 (last week) they require they get the extra help in a school setting. They will also work with her speech(articulation) and she will get some PT for some assistance with her gross motor skills. We are hoping these will all help cut down on all of the falling and crashing that she does! And last, but not least, for her social anxiety.

Never say never. I always said I would not put a 3 year old on a school bus...but guess what? I have realized that I am only one person and can't do everything, so have to take the help when I get the offer. I drove her to school this morning and let them bring her home on the bus so that it was a positive experience(coming home to Mom) for her first trip. It worked out fine.

The teachers sent a note home that she had a very good first day. So, I was happy to hear that! This seems like it will be a positive and important experience for her. All of the ladies that teach there are so nice!!

My friend from work, Yang, sent this princess play set home for Sophie for Sophie's birthday. I wanted to take pictures so she could see how much she enjoys it. Both girls are having lots of fun with it. Sophie's favorite part of it is the earrings. She keeps shaking her head so that she can feel the earrings dangling. Chelsea has been pestering me to get her(Sophie's) ears pierced and now after watching her with the earrings, I might just have to think about it!

***disclaimer for Chelsea*** That is not a "yes" : )

Thanks all for the kind e-mails and messages for Dave! The day of the accident he was in shock and then the couple of days following that, he was very quiet and down. But, he is back to his normal self now. He has his Mom's car to use for work as we figure out what is going on with insurance as his truck was totalled. I have been Praising God each day for protecting Dave in that accident. Driving 80 plus MPH and having an accident with a tractor trailer does not leave good odds. One of my main prayers for Dave daily is for travel mercies and protection of him while he is driving as he drives A LOT! Remember to prayer for your loved ones every day and know it is the best thing you can ever do for your loved ones!! God is sooooo good! All of the time! The photo below is of Ella playing the drums as her big brother plays his guitar. Oh, how she loves her brother!! I have no idea why this entry formatted this way, but it will have to stay as is, because I have to run. Blessings to all!!

Happy Birthday Sophie!

Sophie truned 3 this week and I wanted to put some pictures up of her birthday cake celebration. As you can see she loved her cake!!!

On another note, Dave had a pretty bad accident this morning on the highway involving himself and a tractor trailer. Thank God that he is not hurt. He totalled
his pick-up truck and the officers and everyone there said he was lucky to be alive, let alone walk aways from the accident. I won't be blogging for the rest of the week as we deal with the ramifications of the really shook us all up. I hope you all have a good week-end and we will be back next week.

Go Governor! Go GOD!!

Don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page and stop the music on my playlist before listening to these awesome words!

Look at what Ella made in pre-school. A treat for the birds!

Where does it go, Mom?

How about here?

Beautiful berry tree? Can you find the bird treat?

My work here is done!

And look who is sporting pigtails!! Barely, I know...just barely, but hey-it is progress.

And she is sooo excited to have pigtails like Ella! It's kind of strange. Both girls are the same age and there is such a difference in the amount of hair they have. It usually takes me 10 minutes or so to comb Ella's hair out and put in her pretties. It only takes 5 seconds for me to put a little clip in Sophie's hair. So, she was so happy to sit there while I tried to squeeze her short hair into pigtails. Then she ran to the mirror to see!

Hope everyone had a good week-end! We have spent the last couple of months in the midst of college applications, SAT scores, transcript papers and such. Chelsea was soooo excited this week-end, because she received her first acceptance letter and it was from the college she most wants to go to. I will have to admit that this letter made her going away more of a reality for me. : ( I am going to miss her so much! She is really a good kid and lots of fun. I love spending time with her and miss her when she goes away just for a few days. I am sure Ella is going to miss her terribly also. So, Chels was doing the happy dance all week-end and Mom had a bit of a reality check that her first born will be leaving in 6 months or so. Sigh...

Happy Monday to you and below are just some pictures of cuteness that I wanted to share! Blessings....
