Spotlight on Chelsea

It seems like forever since I have posted pictures! I have lots of catching up to do, so be ready for lots of pictures in this post. June was super busy for us and a very exciting time for Chelsea.

She graduated from HS in the early part of June.

Ella is just so proud of her big sis!

All dressed up for graduation

sweet, sweet sisters!

Let's hear it for the girls!

Then it was time to celebrate with a's the cake

If you drove by our house that night, this is what you would see! Yes, the neighbors were all watching out their windows and we were happy to have many of them come over for the fun!

Yes, by special request(Chelsea's) she had a Disney Princess moon- bounce at her party

and it was a big hit for the young and old and even older! We had to take shifts...big ones and then little ones and so on.

Ella and her friend Maria

Chelsea had her last dance recital. She has danced since she was 3 years old...making this 15 years of dancing. Way to go, Chels!!!!!

See how proud Ella is?

The dance star with her cousin, Hanna!

and with her grandparents

and with Mom, who isn't looking too swift here, but as they say is what it is. LOL!

and finally...this is where we spent our day, today. Moving her into her dorm. Sob, sob!
The dorm rooms were much bigger than we had thought they would be. Yay!
Chelsea is blessed to have a very sweet girl named Kim as her room mate!! And as coincidence or as I like to call God incidents would have it....Kim has 3 older brothers AND 2 sisters adopted from China! They are 6 year old twins. How cool is that??

just some cuteness for your viewing pleasure

Chels checking things out.....

Ella is soooo sad that her Sissy is not coming home with us. She has been telling me for a month that she doesn't want Chelsea to go to college. The good thing is that Chelsea is in the summer/winter program. So after the summer session, she will come home for a few months before returning. She will take local classes for those few months. It will help us all ease into this!!!
Chels....we love you so much and are just so proud of what a special young lady you have grown to be!!!! Study hard!!! Love ya!

The commitment of taking your daughter to dance for 15 years...the awesome graduation party...and the fact that your daughter is chosing to continue her education! Good job mom!!! Chelsea is such a beautiful girl...just like her mom! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to share your happiness with us! Love ya!

Congratulations Chelsea! I LOVE it that she wanted a Disney Princess bounce house....awesome!

I remember when Elisabeth moved into her dorm last was a tough year for her but she made it! She was only an hour away also but it seemed like she was far, far away! For fun once a month, Lottie, Emma Jane and I would go pick her up and take her to lunch. I will be praying for her.

What a wonderful post about Chelsea! I love the Disney Princess moon-bounce for her party. That's something Katie would love too. :-)

We are heavily into the college search. She has decided on one in Atlanta so not too far from home. One of our concerns (and hers too) was leaving the little ones. At least she won't be too far away if she ends up attending this school. We could easily run up for a dinner during the week if we feel the need to.

I am excited yet sad to have Katie begin this next chapter in her life. Thankfully I have one more year. I'll learn from your experience!

How exciting! Chelsea is just lovely. You must be so proud! I can see she gets her beauty from her Mama. That is amazing about her room mate.... Oh, how I love to see the hand of God move!
I will be saying extra special prayers for little Ella to be comforted.. and for Mama too.... I can't imagine how hard it will be when one of my babies fly from the nest...
The moon bounce for her party was the BEST! I love that it was her idea.... see, she is still and always will be your little girl...
I hope you enjoyed your weekend.
God's peace

We have something in common....older daughters who spent years dancing. Would you believe it if I tell you that you will actually MISS those dance recitals? My Sarah was able to get a job at a dance studio in the town where her school is. It pays so much more than regular college jobs, so at least all those years of dance lessons are doing SOMETHING for her!

Your family is adorable.

Sherri said...

By the way, Sarah, my oldest, would have absolutely loved a Disney Princess moonbounce!

Getting used to having them away at school is an adjustment, then having them come home again is an adjustment! lol

You and Chelsea look alike.

I'm rambling......

Congratulations Chelsea! Wow, what a month for her and you. Bittersweet happy moments. Lots of milestones here in this post. Fifteen years of dance what an accomplishment, graduation and off to college. How wonderful for her and sad for you. I can't imagine one leaving the nest, but I know it will happen before I know it. Love the cake and moon bounce. Will be praying for you and all the changes. Ella looks a little sad that her big sister is leaving.
