Super Why!

Are any of your kids Super Why! fans? Ella loves this show and I have to say it is one of my favorites out of the shows they watch. It teaches letters and sounds and word forming in a fun superhero type of way. It also includes many of the classic children's stories...3 Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, etc.

Ella is one of those kids that loves the interactive shows and she is always up on her feet doing just as they tell the kids to do. Every time we have Super Why! on, she comes running to me with a blanket to make a cape so she can be a Super Why! super girl!

Last week-end we went to a Chinese Festival that was hosted by the Chinese students at a local University. This group of students are very active with our FCC group, also. They even prepare a class called Little Dumplings for our little ones from China. They hold this class 4 times a year and it includes a lesson and a craft and activity...all pertaining to Chinese culture. They do all of this on a volunteer basis and I think it is wonderful. They seem to really enjoy the interaction with the little children, too! I wasn't able to get too many pictures from the festival, but below are some of the girls playing with their flags and having fun with their friends while we were there.

Of course my spicy one has to step it up a bit....flag fencing anyone??

I hope you are all well. We have just been super busy lately, so my computer time is very limited. Ella is really loving her pre-school now! She is excited to go in the morning and is full of stories about her day when she comes home! She is sick this week, so did not go to school this morning.

My Chelsea has been trying to recover from a broken heart. It has broken my heart watching her go through this. Please say a prayer for her heart to recover soon...it has been at least 2 weeks and she is still very, very sad. She reads our blog.....is the only one in our house that reads our blog......so, if you all would not mind leaving her some words of encouragement, I would so appreciate it. We have all been there.....it is a horrible feeling.....but it will pass. He has a plan....we just have to have faith in that.

Just remember Chelsea all in God's time. The pain will go away and you will learn something of yourself and your God in the trying times.

I have never heard of that show. The festival looks like fun. We have some ASU students who come and hang out with our FCC group. They are a great bunch. Chelsea, hang in there. Some day your prince will come...promise. :-) I know it is MUCH easier said than done.

Time will definitely heal this wound, although right now it's not what you want to hear nor it is what you think will happen. Give it God and trust me, He will show you that everything works for His good and yours. You are His masterpiece!

Michelle, I've never heard of SuperWhy. What network is that on?
Sounds like something these little guys would love.

Also, you are so blessed with your little Chinese group. I so wish we had something here. ::sniff::

I will definitely be emailing you soon to vent, cry, etc. about the latest issues with my ummm...angel. :) Thanks for the offer.

Yes, Lauren loves that show and is always bringing towels, blankets, anything she can find...and wanting me to tie them on her. She calls herself "Super Lauren". Perhaps I should start making personalized capes and selling them? LOL

Chelsea, I'm so sorry your heart is breaking! I have been praying for you every day. I have been in your shoes and the pain is overwhelming. Believe it or not the pain WILL pass in time. Draw near to God during this time and He will bring someone very special into your life. He loves you so much and knows the desires of your heart. There are always amazing blessings that follow tough times. You are just so beautiful and I believe without a doubt that one day I will click on this blog and see you in the arms of the perfect young man that God has selected just for YOU! You are very blessed to have such a loving mother! Take mom and find some chocolate! :) Hugs to you!!!

Sweet Chelsea,

I wish I could wrap my arms around you and give you a big old hug that would take your pain away. I know that sadness is your companion right now, but there will come a day when you will feel happy again, and ready to move on.

I'm sure you can remember when your sisters came home from China....what the grieving process was like for them. It's hard for us to imagine that they would grieve leaving an orphanage, but it's what they knew.

You will work through your grief little by little, just as your sisters have done, and are doing. You know that God had a wonderful life in store for them, and He has amazing things in store for you!

I vividly remember being in your situation when I was in college. And I came to the realization that if God didn't want me to be with this guy (that I found amazing!) then it wasn't something that I wanted for myself. Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future." Allow HIM to be the author of your future.

You aren't alone. None of us emerges from your phase of life unscathed. Hang in there, Chelsea. There will be joy in the morning! I promise.

Chelsea - God has you in the palm of His hand right now.

Michelle - I've never heard of Super Why, but if she likes that show, she might also like "Between the Lions" on PBS. It's another reading show that is a Tongginator fave.

Sarah loves Super Why too! It is really a cute show and very educational!

The FCC Group looks like a lot of fun...I will join one of these days!

Chelsea, I know this is a difficult time for you, but with time, your pain will go away. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason, there is someone out there more deserving of you....hang in there...it will get better!

Sweet Chelsea, God never makes us go through anything alone!! It may not be easy, but we don't have to suffer by ourselves! Sending you a virtual hug!

Sweet Chelsea, I'm so sorry you are going through such a painful time. A broken heart needs to be healed. Only God can do that. You will be so much stronger and wiser once you come through this!

Michelle, Olivia's very favorite show is Super Why! Her favorite DVD's are the Leap Frog ones. Hopefully, her love for words and letters will last! Ella look so cute in her towel! The festival sounds great...very well put together. I wish we had something like that here.

I never heard of that show! Who broadcasts it?

Chelsea even though you may not know or understand why this was God's will at this time, you will in time thank him because you will not have met your future husband if this would not have happened:)

Chelsea, please take time each day to ask God for grace sufficient for the day. He'll give it to you. I'll be praying for healing for your heart.

Sheri said...

We absolutely love Super Why at our house, too. Sarah doesn't get dressed in a cape though, but I wish she did because Ella looks soooo cute!

Chelsea, I will be praying for you during this difficult time. As so many others have said already, God has a plan for your life. It's hard to understand what that plan is right now in the midst of your heartache, but just trust and believe that your special guy is out there waiting for you. I ran into a former boyfriend a few months ago (who broke my heart), and boy am I happy I didn't end up with him!! :)

I've been there! It's no fun to go through, however, I think it makes us stronger. Hang in there and know you will find the right fellow for you in His time : )

Olivia loves Super Why! She thinks she's Princess P. It has really helped her recognize letters. She can tell you what all the ABC's are & she's only 2!

What cute photos!! Are Sophie's bangs growing on you? I think she looks adorable.

I need to check out Super Why. I'm all for educational tv.

Chelsea - I remember those days with a broken heart. It is so, so painful. Now that I am older, I know it was God's way of preparing my heart for something bigger and better. Heartbreak stretches your ability to love, so that when He sends you your perfect match, you can love more deeply and completely. I'm sending hugs to you.

I am Sam's mom (YuanYuan from Ella's orphanage). I have been where you are right now, it is so hard. You are beautiful, girl! Do not ever doubt that. It is hard to understand the why right now, but God has something better for you.

I've never heaard of that show either. I'll have to check it out.
Yes, time does heal. My 19 yr old daughter was so distraught when her first boyfriend broke up with her, but it turned out to be a blessing because now she has met someone a whole lot nicer.

As a mom to an 18 year old girl, I have had to help her mend her heart a few times (one was really bad) and all I can say is "so sorry sweetie." Hang in there girl!

Chelsea girl,
I tell you, I am 40 years old and I still remember my high school broken hearts. Time heals, but it sure does take it's time. Stay as busy as you can to distract yourself. Don't call him. Set a goal for yourself and then go shopping or do something fun for not calling.
You are absolutely beautiful. Definitely not a smart boy.

man, broken hearts hurt. BAD. But thankfully I know you have strong Faith in God's plan and I pray you will lean on him to sustain you through this trial. Cling to his word and his promises and know that his plan for you is far greater than anything we could have imagined for ourselves.

oh yeah...and chocolate. That seems to help.
You are a Beautiful, strong, AMAZING young woman of God. Please don't forget that!

I love all the photos Michelle!

Chelsea.... I remember the broken heart feeling so well and also remember my mom telling me each time that time heals all wounds. At the time it seemed so far from possible but she was certainly right. Just know that God has a plan for you and he is there for you.

Chelsea, so sorry your heart has been broken, I have learned through my 20yr old son, time is the best medicine and knowing in time God will place you with that perfect person you will continue to grow in Christ with. (((hugs)))

Oh Chelsea....having your heart broke is so terribly painful! Your prince will come one day. I tell my daughter that God is protecting her and this is why these things happen. Just throw yourself into His word and you will feel better soon. Big Hugs from Texas sweet girl.

Oh yes and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Super Why!!! I wish they would put a DVD out since I am quite sure we will not be getting PBS in Mexico! lol Of course then again, we won't need Super Why in English anymore..huh?

Lily is also a HUGE fan of Superwhy! (and she is constantly making towels and blankets into capes too)...very fun.

I am SO sorry to hear Chelsea has a broken heart - I remember that feeling all too well. It can cut deep and feel like it will never get better. But, Chelsea, if you're reading this - it does get better. You will recover from this. Cling to the Lord. He'll help ya thru.
Much love to all of you!

What sweet pictures today. I have never heard of the super why you mentioned. I must look for it!

Oh my gosh, I remember my first love like it was yesterday whenever I hear of a girl with a broken heart, because this was my first true heart break.

I remember my own teenage daughter and how she cried over a few of her boyfriends, even when she broke off the relationships, because it still hurt.

All I can tell you for sure, is hold on! Keep your list long and standards high for the right guy, and you will one day look back on this time, and know the guy you are with was worth the wait! Each thing in life leads to the next, and then you can look back and have sme healing in situations that just felt painful at the time. Meanwhile, really do keep your expectation in a relationship high. You are SO worth it, and someone out there is raising a son who is just right for you!

My heart has felt the pain you feel at this time. It is hard to see (and feel) past this hurt. Please hold to Jesus, rest your head against him and allow Him to walk with you during this time.

You will heal, the pain will lessen and someday (trust me) it will be a distant memory but for now while your heart is still oh so heavy allow those that love you most (your heavenly father and your family) to wrap you up and love on you!

Dear Sweet Chelsea, I know it is hard to believe that anyone truly knows and understands how badly it can hurt..... but we do....... I know it feels like the sun is never going to shine again..... but it will sweet girl. One day... you will look back on this time and although it is so painful you will thank Jesus for it... because if you would not have suffered through this time you wouldn't be with the one that God intends to be your husband. The man of God that He has chosen for you. I know how hard it can be before you find him or he finds you.... but the Lord is with you each step of the way... He has a plan for you that is far more beautiful and filled with joy than you can imagine.... His plans for you, His child far exceed your heart's desire... as hard as it can be to let go and trust Him.... He is faithful.... run to Him and let your Father in heaven comfort your hurting heart. Hang in there..... it's going to get better!
