Daisy is Home!

For as earth bringeth forth her bud,....so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to SPRING forth

Isaiah 61:11

Here is our Daisy! She had a bit of a challenge coming home from NC. Dave's flight home was delayed by 2 hours and then they boarded the plane and sat on the ground for 2 more hours only to be told the flight was now cancelled. After 5 hours of waiting in the airport with a stressed and very scared puppy...Dave was not a happy camper. He had no puppy food with him or anything. They were then telling him they might have to put him up in a hotel for the night. Can you imagine? Most hotels will not allow pets and it would have been next to impossible to smuggle in a yipping pup! They finally found him another flight and 6 hours later, they were on their way-getting home at midnight instead of 4:00 in the afternoon. BTW....apparently Dave was not too lonely through all of the airport hassles, because he said the woman were hovering around him the whole time and wanting to take turns holding the puppy. My teenagers got a kick out of that one! Ella could NOT sleep because she was waiting all day for Daisy puppy to come home. So, there we were at midnight with a 3 year old and a puppy running together
through the house. : )

WonderPets...We're on Our Way

IMG_0984
We all know how much Ella loves her stuffed animals...oops-I mean her "friends". To her...they are very real. If you accidentally step on one or roll over onto one-look out! She even makes us apologize to her animals. Well, to go along with that imagination....it will be no surprise that she really gets into the TV shows. I really try to limit her TV watching during the day, because she gets so into it. However, a certain Ba Ba that we know loves TV just as much as Ella, so when I go to work in the evenings...guess what they do together? Now, I am not a TV person....so I have been clueless as to the names of her TV friends. I am starting to learn them though. If I am not sure what/who she is talking about...I just ask Dave! I was reading her a book the other day with the Backyardigans and I had no idea how to pronounce Uniqua. Boy, did she correct me!

She received these last week and she is loving them!
Linny, Tuck and Ming Ming, too!!!

Here is Sophie all jazzed up. She likes to play "dress up" these days.

This is just a picture from Easter that I like and thought I would post.

I hope you all have a great week-end! Dave is picking up our puppy right now in NC. So, hopefully our next post will be puppy pictures.
Oh, and what's the magic words??? Yo Gabba Gabba!!! (See...I am getting it!

...Yesterday, we did our Easter egg coloring. Ella has been patiently waiting for this event! Chelsea and Joe(her boyfriend) helped the girls with this so that I was able to get some pictures. Don't mind the black glove look... Chelsea had her nails done recently and didn't want the food dye to interfere with her new color. remember those days....so long ago?

And for your viewing cuteness... The puppies are 6 weeks old now. They will be going to their new homes this coming Friday. Since they are in North Carolina, Dave will be flying out there on Friday to bring our newest addition home. So, far we believe her name will be Daisy.

Take a peek here. This mom is such an inspiration as you will see through her blog and is traveling now to bring home their newest daughter. She was/is such a blessing to me as we worked through many of Sophie's transition issues. She will have the best Easter gift as that is when she will meet her new daughter! When you visit her blog, please leave her some words of encouragement. She is traveling alone and had a not so good travel arrival into China, which she handled amazingly well! Please keep her and her daughter in prayer.

March 20th.

Just where does time go? My Chelsea turns 18 today. How can you have a better day to celebrate your birthday than the First Day of Spring? It is so hard to believe that my firstborn is 18!!! I remember her birth like it was yesterday. She was actually supposed to be born on May 21st., but my very uncomplicated, easy pregnancy took another route on St. Paddy's day 18 years ago. I ended up in the ER and I remember the Doctor's asking Dave if I was a drinker. ha! Actually, I do not drink at all, so Dave laughed at that question. Apparently my liver was starting to shut down as I had developed something called H.E.L.P. syndrome. The only cure for this was to deliver the baby. I was so terrified, because my belly was so small that many people did not know I was expecting. I was never so scared in my life. I couldn't imagine how small my baby would be, especially since they told me she had stopped getting nutrients/ stopped growing 3 weeks prior to all of this!

She surprised us all weighing in at exactly 4 pounds. The delivery room was full of docs and nurses from NICU waiting to wisk her away as soon as I delivered. I couldn't even see my baby. She stayed in the NICU for 2 weeks after her birth and then the step down room for 2 more weeks before we were able to bring her home. What an emotional time that was for us. It was sooo hard to see your baby in an incubator all hooked up to machines to keep her breathing and keep her alive. She was so, so tiny and frail. So hard to leave your baby in a hospital and come home to an empty nursery each night. There are no quarters for parents to sleep in the NICU. But, she fought and she was soon able to breathe on her own and eventually started to take a bottle. She was still so tiny when we brought her home as they usually lose weight after they are born, so she came home weighing the 4 pounds. It did not take her long to outgrow the premie size clothes, though! She had to wear a heart monitor for the first year of her life as she had something called bradycardia.(sp?) Our first year was full of appointments and visits with specialists. They told us of all the things that could happen or not happen as a result of her early birth...but she beat the odds and thrived in every way!

Chels, we love you more than you could ever know and we are sooo proud of you!!

You are the best(and coolest!) big sister that anyone could have!

Chels with her Grandpop

and with her Nanny(grandmother)

and being embarrassed as the waiters at Red Robin sing Happy Birthday

Chelsea, remember you can do anything you want to with your life and don't ever underestimate what you can achieve. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better daughter than God has given me in you. Remember how much He loves you as His child!!

And one more thing, sweetie.....work is NOT a "four letter word". Patiently waiting.... :- ) Love ya!!

Happy First Day of Spring to all of my bloggy friends!!!!

Well, I think I have one of the youngest backseat drivers around. My older 2 did not start backseat driving until they were school age!

Ella.....
"Hey, why are we going down this street? Our house is the other way. You are going the WRONG way!!"

"You need to slow down, I am getting dizzy."
**We get told every couple of minutes to slow down. And no, I don't speed. Ba Ba on the other hand.....**

"The light is green, why aren't we moving yet? Green means go...let's get going"

"You just went through a red light....red means stop. You need to stop"
***And no, we don't run red lights. LOL! She sometimes sees a red light in a turn lane when the strait-a-way is green,**

"We are going too slow. Why are we going slow?"

That's our Ella!!!!!

The picture below is for our bloggy friend Lily over at Lil Bubble Queen. I love the stories of Lily and her pretend friends, because it is like I am reading about Ella! Ella does not play with dolls at all, yet has quite the collection of her stuffed friends. She has birthday parties for them, , plays school with them, takes them places and they all must be in order when Ella is going to sleep. And since she sleeps with us....OUR bed is full of Ella's stuffed friends each night. Each one has to be in a certain place, and one can not be on top of another, because they would get "smooshed". I also love reading about Lily's beloved Spot, because, of course...we have Pup!! The picture below is one of the many parties we have each day. I could not fit all of the animal friends in the photo, but you get the idea. And of course, Pup(the star of the party)is blowing out the candles.

Crackpot

Many of you have probably already read this. I read it for the first time about a year ago and really liked it. My grandmother just recently sent it to me and I thought I would share for those who have not already seen it. Enjoy!!

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the
ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect
and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the
cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing
home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and
miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it
spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself,
because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to
your house."

The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on
your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?"
"That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted
flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back,
you water them."
"For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers
to
decorate the table.

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this
beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws
we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and
rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look
for the good in them.

Remember to smell the flowers on your side
of the path!

I hope that you all had a great week-end! I work week-ends and have off on Mondays, so I happen to love Mondays.

Now, of course most of you know that the answer to the test question is a big False. I always laugh when I see a lot of the pictures I take, because one would think the girls always laugh together and give big hugs to one another. They tend to do this a lot when I try to get them in the same picture. They find that fun! Our little ones are only 8 weeks apart in age, and are what the adoption community refers to as "virtual twins". They really have such completely opposite personalities which, in so many ways, is a Blessing. So, they often play well together...but just as often bicker. They are actually lots of fun to watch when they interact. They are each other's biggest protector...that is for sure!

IMG_0856
Look what we got this week-end. Yay! I have been searching for a used double jogging stroller. They are pretty expensive to buy new, so I have been keeping my eyes out. I found this Runabout Stroller on Craig's List. It is several years old, but still working great...just needs new tires. The other double stroller we have is not easy to push outdoors uphill and such, so I have not been able to walk as much as I used to. With the puppy coming, I will definitely be walking LOTS. So...we are ready to roll!!
Oh, and I like the idea of the girls not being side by side. You Moms know what I am referring to here. : )

One of my close friends told me about this book and I want to also share it with you. I can not say enough about this book. It is a devotional that gives such powerful messages each day. Each day has a brief devotional that you will most certainly be able to relate to in terms of your own life. I highly recommend that you get this book for yourself and share it with others. Whenever I find a Christian book that really touches me and helps me in my Walk....I buy a few others and pray for God to lead me to who I should give them to. Run...don't walk to get your copy of Jesus Calling.
