Yesterday we had lots of fun with our friends at the zoo! It was actually perfect weather for the zoo...a little overcast and not very hot. I think the weather helped to keep it from getting too crowded.
Here are our friends Lauren and Paige(left) and Malia(right). We were so happy to be able to spend the day with you guys!! This is the second time we were able to get together with April and her girls...both times were at busy parks and April is always outnumbered by little ones. April, my hat goes off to you, my friend! You never skip a beat and never lose your patience and never even appear to tire out from chasing your little gals. I am sure you do...but it never shows! Your girls are just adorable!! We traveled to China with sweet Malia's mom and dad when we traveled for Sophie and always look forward to being able to spend time with them!
As usual....I can never just pick one or two pics...so I have to share a bunch with you.
Is that our Sissy in the rabbit house with us??
As April calls them...our own little Zoo Crew. The cutest one around, for sure!

Yesterday, we were so happy to be able to spend some time with Lisa from The Long Road to China!! Ella and I met her and her adorable Sarah at a local park. Lisa was so kind as to help me FINALLY learn a little more about my SLR! I bought it about a year ago and was so excited to have a camera with more functions, yet I have been stuck in "auto". Just have not had the time to educate myself any further with the camera. Lisa, I am so appreciative...it really is a good feeling to be able to move past my auto mode. : ) We had lots of fun with you and Sarah!
These are some of my favorite pics that I took from yesterday.
I LOVE this one. There was only 1 bottle of bubbles left and the girls are trying to share the same wand. See how Sarah is holding onto Ella's little arm as they both concentrate on blowing those bubbles....cute!
I like the expression on Ella's face in this pic...also love how it shows Sarah's adorable haircut!
Thanks again, Lisa! We look forward to getting together with you and Sarah again!!
Yesterday was also the last day at Chinese school for the semester. We will miss it...I am happy with all that we have learned this year!!
Here is the teacher handing out medals to the kids for all of their hard work.
The girls with their teachers. The teacher on the left(closest to Ella) is their teacher and the gal on the right is the helper. Miss Susan, the teacher, is one of the most patient ladies I have ever known....what a great teacher she has been. We will miss her so much next year as the girls will progress to the next level.
you have to note the look on Sophie's face here. lol! She will not tolerate anyone touching her and will usually jump 3 feet to get away from someone's touch. I bribed her here in this pic, but the look on her face tells it all. hee hee!
Happy Mom's Day to all of you Moms out there!!!

So, Ella pulled out on of our photo albums the other day while her and I were having some quiet time together. It was one of our China trip albums...the one where we traveled to bring Sophie home. We followed through each page beginning at the packed bags and boarding the big plane to China right through to where we first met Sophie and here is the conversation that took place while leafing through the album...
Ella: "Mommy, not all kids have a sister".
Me:(thinking Ella is really grasping the idea of different family formations) "That's right, Ella.....all families are different. Some have lots of sisters brothers, some have none, some have just one or two".
Ella: "My friend K has NO sister in her family".
Me: That's right, Ella.
Ella: "SO, can we take Sophie back to China"?
And here I am thinking she was referring to different family make-ups. ha!
My girls actually really get along well with one another these days and both would be COMPLETELY lost without the other! Of course, they bicker, but that is normal. I also have never met a child that did not request that their new sibling be sent back....whether the sibling came into the family via birth or adoption. I guess Ella is no exception...although I am not so sure why she is saying this almost 2 years after the fact!
On another note...Chelsea came home last week-end for the Summer and we are soooo happy to have her home with us!!! We love you, Sissy!!!
Thanks so much to Diana for our new blog look!! Love it!!! You can visit her site here if you need a new look and tell her I sent you. : )

"Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.
Walk beside me and be my friend."
"Friends are the most important ingredient in this recipe of life."
"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up."
"A Friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway!!!"
"Friends are God's way of taking care of us."
"Thus nature has no love for solitude, and always leans, as it were, on some support; and the sweetest support is found in the most intimate friendship."
"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words."
"A friend is one who walks in when others walk out"
"A hug is worth a thousand words. A friend is worth more."
For all of you that read our blog and offer your love and support, I am blessed by your friendship! For all of you that I am blessed to call my friend, I thank God for you! Friends are truly Angels on Earth and truly one of the many ways that God takes care of us. I am thanking God this evening for each and everyone of the special people He has put in my life that I am proud and blessed to call my friend!!
