Cinderella

The girls and I went to see a local production of Cinderella, yesterday. It was really very cute! The stage was not in a full size auditorium...it was a small stage surrounded by only4 rows of seating and they allow the children to sit along on the floor right on top of the stage!! The characters actually interact with the kids during the show! We really enjoyed it! They added some points of humor in it....probably for the adults sake. For instance, the wicked stepmother was a male....who did not try to hide that fact! Some of the things that were meant as humor were a bit frightening to Ella and she came and crawled in my lap during the show instead of sitting on stage. She still struggles with loud noises...they are indeed a trigger for her PTSD. Not sure how we will handle that when we go to Disney in a few months. Earplugs?

After the show was over, the characters all lined up and gave their autographs and posed for pics, if wanted, with the kids. So cute! The gal that played Cinderella was the sweetest thing and the Prince was truly charming. They fit the roles as perfectly as could be!

The girls wore their Cinderella shirts that I have set aside for Disney. Ella does not like to pose for pics....at all! I had to crop her out of this one, which I thought was a cute one of Sophie. I have to catch Ella off guard and naturally to capture good shots of her.

Oh, how fun! So glad y'all had a wonderful time, despite the loud noises.

The Tongginator loved meeting Cinderella at our house last year... but mostly because she brought along the horses (with her carriage). That girl - never reacting the way I expect. LOL.

how fun! Love the pic of Sophie with her hands on her hips:)
Jacob can't stand loud noises either, He does get better each trip to Disney. This past year he actually enjoyed the fireworks and a couple of shows. He loves tohave playdough in his hands to deal with the stress.

What a great time! The girls, of course, look adorable!
I guess I didn't know Ella and AnLi were so much alike. :) As someone else said, AnLi always has something in her hands (spoon, shovel, something hard) to deal with the stress/anxiety.
Good luck! Will e-mail soon.

How fun, Maya would have loved to join them.

That's a great picture of Sophie. I'm sure Ella will get back to enjoying posing sooner or later.

Re the loud noises, Maya used to be really sensitive to and upset by loud noises as well. We taught her to put her hands over her ears to block the sound when things got too loud and it made a huge difference - both by reducing the noise itself and by giving her a degree of control over it.

Michelle,

When we went to Disney, Olivia was still having issues with noise. We bought her (ahead of time before we left home) one of those spinny centrifuge flashlight things. When it was fireworks time, we'd pull that out and she would focus on that and not on what was going on around her.

I'm glad you had a nice day! I miss you!

Wow! What a wonderful experience for Ella and Sophie! You are such a great Mommy! Beautiful pictures! Your daughters will be talking about Cinderella forever and ever! And, those dance costumes for their recital are the cutest!

How fun! I love all their costumes. What a wonderful time for you and the girls.
I hope Ella wasn't afraid anymore when she was in her Mommy's lap. Hannah still has a very difficult time with most loud noises as well.
I don't remember Disney being too loud.... perhaps that is because I couldn't hear the noises over my LOUD EXCLAMATIONS of GLEE! hehee

That is so funny that Ella doesn't like to pose for pictures - I have one like that - one rotten one in the bunch can spoil the whole picture :=) Well, only if they are in the middle - of you can crop 'em - do it!!

Disney is going to be be fun - I love the princess shirts!!

Michelle, the girls look so beautiful! What a dream come true for them. :) Jackson always had major issues with noise too. He has outgrown it in the last couple of years though.
