Virginia Beach

We are back from vacation! Our vacation lead us to Virginia Beach this year and we loved it!! Almost every summer for as long as I can remember we have gone to the Jersey Shore, but I have to say that I really liked VB so much more. It is twice the drive, but well worth it! I know that I was raised in NJ and that is where I should hold my loyalty, but maybe since I was born in's all good! : )

I took hundreds of pictures and all though it may seem like I put them all in this post, I worked hard to narrow down some of my favorites. You may just see one of these on our Christmas card this year, but since I could not choose a favorite...

So, my Mamarazzi tendencies are rubbing off. ha! Dave was using my point and shoot to take pics while I was getting the kids to pose.

and Ella was behind the lens for this pic. She asked me several times if she could take pics, which of course I allow her. It's always fun to see what shots she gets.

We stayed at the Sunspree Resort and it was awesome!! It is right on the beach, so we had two balconies off our suite that we could sit out and watch/listen to the ocean. Talk about peaceful. We would leave the sliding door open at night and go to sleep listening to the waves. Since we were so close to the ocean, we would go back and forth between the ocean and the pools each day. The hotel had three pools and an indoor movie theater. There were water slides and lazy rivers. They also had Splash Camp for the kids that was open from 9-8 every day. It is set up to provide childcare free of charge....but not just a toy room. They had planned activities all through the day. You can drop your kids off anytime as many times a day as you would like. The girls loved it! We only took them for an hour or two each day. You do have to stay on the property while your kids are there, but it is perfect if you just want some quiet adult time. Say, you would like to sit at the pool with your favorite book and a quiet. I would never do something like that....

just sayin' : )

Each night on the boardwalk, there was free entertainment. They work hard at making sure that you enjoy your stay at VB! There was a band everynight, fireworks twice a week and many more things. On the last night, we were fortunate enough to have the Billy Joel tribute band perform live! They were awesome and I found it funny how I can't remember what day of the week it is, BUT I remembered every word of every one of his songs that I listened to back in the day!

Thanks for letting us share our pics with you! Enjoy the rest of your summer, my friends and BE BLESSED!!!!
